DEVELOPING AND BUILDING YOUR OWN HOME OR DEVELOPMENT IN BALI - a feature by Harcourts Bali - part 1 - GAPURA VISTA
Twenty years ago my wife and I envisaged building a life style retirement community in Bali. A place where like minded, well traveled individuals both Indonesian and or expatriates could live and retire maintaining a certain life style surrounded by a community which both facilitated the need for social contact as well as a shared approach to maintenance, security, banjar- and local community relations. After many moons of searching for the right spot I found a plot of land atop Bukit Pandawa ( which at that time was not known yet) and started to work on our dream. We modelled our ideas on the Batu Jimbar development in Sanur, which was the first of its kind in Bali where residences were developed ( not holiday homes). It will take too long to describe how the project evolved in this introduction (with all of its ups and downs and believe me there are lots of challenges developing your own project), but Harcourts Bali asked me to tell our story and visualize this in 3 separate videos.
